An Easter Song

A pretty good Easter song from the very underrated Christian pop band, Street Called Straight.

This song is from their 1991 self-titled album, released on Frontline Records. The husband-wife team recorded 4 albums in the 1990s. Lead singer Jody Ftankfurt passed away in 2006, from lung cancer.

Major Milestone for "The Podcasting Priest"

We have mentioned Father Roderick from SQPN previously, regarding his YouTube videos that use LEGOs to present church teachings.

Father Roderick is  also a pioneer in the world of podcasting, and recently released the 1000th epiosde of The Break, his flagship show.

The show has gone through a few iterations over the nearly 10 years that it has been around. For a time, it was a daily show, but now comes out (mostly) weekly. The show includes reviews of geek-related movies and TV, along with discussions of current history and information about the Catholic Church.

Congratulations to Father Roderick on reaching this impressive podcasting milestone. Here is to another 1,000 more!

Holding Christian Film Accountable

I recently discovered the YouTube film critic "Say Goodnight, Kevin." The premise of the reviews is that Christian movies should be held to the same standards that every movie is held to, in terms of script-writing, production, acting, and effects.

Recently, he posted this video about "How To Make A Christian Movie." Like most of his videos, this one contains a nice balance between insightful and humorous. The mockery is never cruel. His desire to see better quality product come from the evangelical entertainment industry is sincere. And his critique of that industry is completely on-point.

His YouTube channel contains a range of series beyond this one, and though I haven't seen them all, they do appear to be of similar quality.
